Historical Fiction WebQuest: Process
Step 1: Become Experts (In Groups)
You will get together with your group and research your perspective, finding primary and secondary sources in order become experts on your particular perspective. Use the sites under the Resources tab as well as sites that you find on your own in order to compile an impressive library to inform your knowledge. Keep in mind that for each source, you must provide a 100-200 word annotation in order to inform the class on your findings.
Step 2: Share Your Expertise, (In Groups-->Class)
After you've established an excellent collection of sources and are experts in your field, you will upload links to your sources and annotations to our giant, class Prezi on the "World of America in the 1600s and 1700s," of which you will receive a link from the teacher. This is meant to guide you and your classmates into the intricacies of the world of your characters to make it as true and realistic as possible, and will be an invaluable resource as you write your individual stories.
Step 3: Use Information to Compose Your Historical Fiction Story! (Individual)
Thinking in the world that we created with the Prezi, create your own characters and story line in the time period. Be creative, and have fun!
Step 4: Present a Synopsis and Short Excerpt from Individual Stories Using Prezi
Share the most interesting research, a synopsis, and short excerpt so that there is an anthology of our class work.
